Cavendish Lodge is situated within the heart of Keighley town centre and has been open since 1991 and operated by 1st Safari since January 2006. We are near to the main bus station and only a short walk from the railway station or college.

We are registered with OFSTED to provide care for children aged 0-8 years and can accommodate up to 45 children. The nursery employs practitioners whom are all qualified to level 3 or above. The company is committed to ensuring that all children are cared for by experienced practitioners. All practitioners are fully CRB checked and hold current training in first aid, basic food hygiene and child protection.

Our last OFSTED inspection which was carried out in February 2013 resulted in a GOOD ranking. We are proud that we received GOOD and the report shows how close to Outstanding we were. If you would like to look through the report, please do not hesitate to call in or use the OFSTED link on the Contact Us page.

The nursery is divided into four playrooms. Two playrooms are based for 0-2 year olds, a 2-3 year room and a 3-5 year old room. All children aged 3 years old at the start of a term are entitled to FREE nursery education funding, subject to government conditions, funded and supported by Bradford Council.

The setting has an extensive outdoor play area at the rear of the building, including a soft play area, decking and grass area, where we have our own ‘growing garden’. We encourage all children in our care to have the opportunity to experience the outdoors on a daily basis as the outdoor environment plays a vast role in children’s learning and development.

We are committed to providing care which is individually tailored to each child, we are aware that all children develop in diverse ways and at differing rates. The setting celebrates everyone as an individual and is committed to promoting inclusion as evidenced by the Bronze award for the Inclusion Quality Standard through Bradford Early Years in 2010.

The setting promotes healthy eating and as part of our commitment to this we encourage all children to brush their teeth whilst at nursery everyday. The setting currently has a gold award from the local authority for promoting healthy eating and tooth brushing.
